Dear families,
On Saturday night, some of our Grade 6 students, along with students from St Michael’s in Heyfield, celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation. We were fortunate to have Bishop Greg lead the Mass and Confirm the students. He has a wonderful way of making everyone feel welcome and at ease, bringing light-heartedness and humour to his liturgies. It was lovely to see how he took the time to personally connect with each student as they were anointed—quickly discovering just how important football is to the Maffra and Heyfield communities!
One message from the Bishop stood out to me in particular: he offered a heartfelt thank you to the non-Catholic parents for supporting their children in receiving this sacrament. As many of our families are not Catholic, I wanted to pass on that message of appreciation. Thank you for choosing our school and for trusting us with your child’s education. I hope each of you continues to feel welcome and valued as part of our community.
Finally, I’d like to thank all families once again for your flexibility and understanding around the extended long weekend. I know it can be challenging, and we will continue to reflect on how we plan our closure days to best support everyone.
Kind regards,
Julian

30th May ~ Jas Stockdale
Congratulations to Jas on her first public piano performance at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival!
Jas showed great courage and confidence as she took the stage to share her music with a live audience for the very first time. Her dedication, consistent practice, and passion for music truly stood out. We’re proud of her hard work and excited to see where her musical journey takes her next. Well done Jas!!
To celebrate student's achievements, we will be presenting children with Star Of The Week awards. This is a self nominated award of something a student is proud of. It could be something academic, sports related, or a personal achievement. Have you learnt to ride a bike? Won 1st place in a dance competition? Read a book by yourself? Anything that makes you proud!
