To say we had an eventful week to begin the term is an understatement. In the face of recent extreme weather in the past week, our community demonstrated incredible resilience and unity. As those impacted recover from these challenging events, we continue to offer support to those affected.
As a school community we hopefully can now focus on the many exciting and educational events that are happening this term. We have excursions, sporting events, swimming, celebrations, fundraisers and presenters, amongst all the brilliant learning that is happening in the classrooms. I want to thank the staff and family volunteers that allow the organisation of all these events.
As child safety is always at the forefront of everything we do here at school, I want to reiterate the work that continues to be done in relation to cyber safety. As a staff we continue to educate the students at school about all aspects of keeping safe online. DigiiSocial is the resource that staff utilise to teach all about cyber safety. The eSafety Commissioner website https://www.esafety.gov.au/ also has a mountain of resources and information for teachers and parents that can be utilised to help everyone be equipped to support our children in this challenging space.
As always, please speak to me if you have any concerns about your child's well-being or learning. Please enjoy a safe and fun weekend with your families.
Kind regards,
Julian
To celebrate student's achievements, we will be presenting children with Star Of The Week awards. This is a self nominated award of something a student is proud of. It could be something academic, sports related, or a personal achievement. Have you learnt to ride a bike? Won 1st place in a dance competition? Read a book by yourself? Anything that makes you proud!
Forms can be found on the link below.
Next week we have 8 students representing our school at the Regional Athletics in Newborough. This is an outstanding achievement to have so many students make it to this level of competition. We wish Owen Crutchfield, Ben Murphy, Summer Domaille, Imlay Pickalla, Johnni Bramich, Georgia Rawson and Jess Rowley all the best with their events.
Twilight Soccer
On Monday night we had 40 students participate in the Twilight Soccer Competition in Sale. It is the first time our school has entered teams into this competition. After the success of the Matildas at the Women’s World Cup, our students were very inspired to have a go at soccer.
All students did so well and thoroughly enjoyed their first game. Good luck for the rest of the competition.

Socktober - Tuesday 31st October
As a Catholic school community, we are proud to celebrate mission month, to celebrate and raise awareness of all the amazing work that missionaries do for those less fortunate than us.
On Tuesday 31st October, we will be participating in 'Crazy Sock Day', where children can wear crazy socks to school for a coin donation that will go directly to the missionaries.
See this video for information on Socktober 2023:
Freddie was inspired by his favourite AFL player, Jack Sinclair, and so decided to also cut off his beloved mullet as Jack had. Freddie set a date for the big cut and did a shout out for support from family and friends to help him fundraise for a great cause - The Danny Frawley Centre. With wonderful support and generous donations, Freddie managed to raise $865 for the centre. Congratulations and well done Freddie!
The Danny Frawley Centre is a state-of-the-art, Mental and Physical Fitness Facility co-located at the home of St. Kilda Football Club, RSEA Park in Moorabbin. They aim to create a place of belonging and an all-inclusive community that understands the importance of mental health and the skills required to be mentally fit, face life’s challenges and play life better.
While the centre is not only a proudly unique and game-changing asset to the Bayside region, they have created a space to celebrate and honour the life of Danny Frawley, immortalising his legacy as both a St Kilda Champion, as well as a passionate advocate for mental health.
