Dear families,
I am thrilled to take this opportunity to reflect on our recent Athletics Carnival, which was a resounding success thanks to the collective efforts of our dedicated staff, enthusiastic parents, and, of course, our amazing students.
A special shout-out goes to our fantastic PE teacher, Chloe Orchard, who worked tirelessly to organise the day. From coordinating events to ensuring that everyone had a chance to shine, Chloe's hard work and passion truly made the day unforgettable. Thank you, Chloe, for your commitment and for inspiring our students to embrace the joy of athleticism!
The Athletics Carnival is not just about competition; it is about participation, teamwork, and, most importantly, having fun! It was heartwarming to see students cheering for one another, trying their best, and enjoying the various events. While we celebrate the achievements and successes of our students, the true spirit of the day lies in the sense of community and the friendships that are fostered through participation.
I would like to extend my gratitude to all the parents who volunteered their time and energy to support our students. Your involvement is invaluable and plays a crucial role in creating a vibrant school community. Thank you for being there, cheering on our young athletes and making the day even more special!
As we look back on this wonderful event, let’s remember that the most important takeaway is the joy of being active together, learning new skills and trying our best. I encourage everyone to keep that spirit alive as we continue to support our students in their physical pursuits throughout the year. We congratulate the 37 students who represented our school at the Heyfield and District Athletics Carnival today, we are proud of all your efforts.
Thank you once again for making our Athletics Carnival a fantastic experience!
Kind regards,
Julian

26th July ~ Teddy Bristow
Congratulations to Teddy who is part of Young Theatre Gippsland. He was recently in a production called "The Twelfth Knight". Teddy was part of a team who produced a fantastic production and an enjoyable night out for those who attended. Teddy had to practice his lines and know where to stand on stage to be able to deliver a steller performance. He had to overcome his nerves so he could be part of such a successful performance. Teddy showed dedication and commitment to prepare for this production.
Teddy has shown great enthusiasm, devotion, courage and resilience to be fully prepared in preparation for this production.
Well done Teddy!!
To celebrate student's achievements, we will be presenting children with Star Of The Week awards. This is a self nominated award of something a student is proud of. It could be something academic, sports related, or a personal achievement. Have you learnt to ride a bike? Won 1st place in a dance competition? Read a book by yourself? Anything that makes you proud!
Forms can be found on the link below.
Last Tuesday saw St Mary's students from grade 3 to 6 travel by bus to the Sale Little Athletics track for our school house athletics. Grades Foundation to 2 followed shortly after in the morning.
What a perfect day we had for our 2024 School House Athletics. The sun was shining, there were lots of smiling faces and an abundance of support. Thank you to Mrs Orchard for organising such a large event. Thank you to the very helpful staff for ensuring all students enjoyed themselves and kept the day on time. Thank you to our fantastic students for their support of one another, their competitiveness and their wonderful sportsmanship. Also, thank you to our amazing St Mary's community for coming along to support and cheer on our amazing students.
Results saw MacKillop running out eventual winners for the day. Overall placings were MacKillop 1st, Curran 2nd and Corbett 3rd. Well done to everyone.
