PE with Mrs Bec Stobie
Week 4
AFL Clinics
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week all students participated in AFL clinics with Trevor from AFL Victoria.
The sessions provided students with the opportunity to learn and develop the basic skills required to play AFL. It was fantastic to see some students who had never picked up a football, quickly learn the key skills and by the end of the session, were kicking the ball like a professional!
HDSSA Cross Country
On Monday, 32 students represented our school at HDSSA Cross Country which were held at the Heyfield Wetlands.
Students faced challenging conditions with the weather being so warm and a snake sighting on the course.
All students did an excellent job with their races and our school finished 2nd place. Well done to the following students who will be progressing to the Wellington Cross Country in Yarram next week:
Georgia Rawson
Peyton Lambourn
Ada Phillips
Mia Potter
Ben Murphy
Larni Burns
Emilyn Knight
A special thank you to Nicki Wilkinson, Kelly Murphy and Mr Morgs for assisting on the day.
National Walk to School Day
It was wonderful to see so many students and their families participate in National Walk to School Day today.
The event is a community initiative that aims to raise awareness of the health, road safety, transport and environmental benefits that regular walking (especially to and from school) can provide for the long term well-being of our children.
It was fantastic to see so many families walk to school this morning. Hopefully even in the cooler months, we can continue to see lots of our students being active on their way to school.
