Principals Message
Dear families,
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who made our Grandparents Day Celebration on Thursday a truly special event. Thank you to the grandparents, families and friends for joining us in this joyful occasion, your presence brought immense joy to our school community. We also want to express our appreciation to the foundation teachers for organising the Mass and all other staff helping to prepare the students. Lastly, we extend our thanks to the students for their enthusiastic participation and great singing. The students who read and helped to run the slides did a fantastic job. It was so great to see so many visitors back to the classroom, the children were so excited to share our school and their learning.
After last week's incident involving our school and TiKTok I thought it is important to discuss the dangers of social media for young children. While social media platforms offer opportunities for connection and learning, they also can expose children to various risks. Cyberbullying, inappropriate content, online predators, and negative self-image are just a few examples. Open communication, setting boundaries, monitoring their activities, and teaching children about responsible online behaviour can help ensure their safety and well-being. I will continue to share resources and information about cyber safety and I hope that the school and families can work together to help to keep our children safe online. Please speak to me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the safety of your children.
Please have a great weekend.
Kind regards,
Julian
