PE with Mrs Bec Stobie
On Monday the 7th of August we had our whole school Athletics Carnival at the Little Athletics Track in Sale.
We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and all the children from Foundation to Grade 6 had a fantastic day competing in their events. I was so proud of all our students for having a go even when some of the events were outside their comfort zone.
Well done to McKillop House on winning the Athletics Carnival, closely followed by Corbett and Curran House.
Thank you so much to our parents and grandparents who assisted on the day. Without the parent/grandparent volunteers we would not have been able to run the day as successfully as we did. Also thank you all to our teachers and LSO staff for their help.
District Athletics
On Monday we had 32 students from Grades 3-6 represent our school at the Heyfield and District Athletics Carnival in Sale.
All students should be proud of their efforts on the day as they achieved fantastic results in their individual and team events. Students represented the school to a high standard - showing respect and supporting their teammates throughout the day.
Congratulations and good luck to the 25 students who are progressing to the Wellington Level. Thank you to Ms Halley, Gerard and Connie Dwyer for helping out on the day.

District Athletics - By Anastasia Dwyer
On Monday the 14th of August students from Grades 3-6 participated in the District Athletics at Sale. There were some tough and challenging schools to compete against in the Heyfield and District. Luckily everyone pushed themselves to their limits and kept on going. And lots of our students are progressing to the next level. In the relays, the 9/10 Boys came second and the Grade 5 girls came first. In the next round there will be lots of tough schools to compete against.

Thank you to all the staff and parents that helped at the Athletics. Special thanks to the Maffra Secondary College students who helped and supported us. Good job to all the students who participated in the Athletics. And well done to all the students going on to the next round. Keep up the good work.
Twilight Soccer
At school in PE classes we have been focusing on Soccer which has tied in nicely with the FIFA Women’s World Cup Soccer. Students have been loving participating in the activities and games during class. Soccer has also been an extremely popular activity to play in the yard at recess and lunch break. Next term there is a Twilight Soccer Competition that will be happening in Sale on Monday afternoons. I am hoping to get some school teams to participate in the competition. I will send out more information soon for interested students. Stay tuned!
Cricket
With the AFL season finishing up soon, our local cricket clubs are starting their preseason training and recruitment. If your child is interested in participating in cricket, please see below for more information on how to get involved.
