Principals Message
Dear Families,
This week, our school community came together to recognise two very important events focused on mental health and well-being.
On Thursday, we acknowledged R U OK? Day, a national day of action that reminds us all to check in with those around us and start a meaningful conversation. It's a simple question—"Are you OK?"—but it can have a powerful impact, especially when asked with care, patience, and a listening ear.
Building on this important message, today was our Whole-School Well-Being Day, where students and staff spent the day focusing on strategies from The Resilience Project—Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM). These simple yet powerful practices help our students build emotional resilience, stay connected with others, and be more present in their daily lives.
Today students engaged in activities that promote self-awareness and kindness—towards themselves and each other. Whether it was sharing things they’re grateful for, practicing mindful breathing, or showing acts of empathy, these moments help lay the foundation for a mentally healthy and emotionally strong future.
I would like to thank our Mental Health and Well-Being Leader, Mrs Wilson, for organising such an important day and also supporting all our students and their well-being throughout the year. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's mental health and well-being, please contact Mrs Wilson.
As a school, we are committed to nurturing not just academic success, but the overall wellbeing of every child. Mental health matters—every day—and together with your support at home, we can ensure our children grow up feeling seen, heard, and supported.
Kind regards,
Julian
