Dear families,
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who made our Grandparents Day Celebration on Thursday a truly special event. Thank you to the grandparents, families and friends for joining us in this joyful occasion, your presence brought immense joy to our school community. We also want to express our appreciation to the foundation teachers for organising the Mass and all other staff helping to prepare the students. Lastly, we extend our thanks to the students for their enthusiastic participation and great singing. The students who read and helped to run the slides did a fantastic job. It was so great to see so many visitors back to the classroom, the children were so excited to share our school and their learning.
After last week's incident involving our school and TiKTok I thought it is important to discuss the dangers of social media for young children. While social media platforms offer opportunities for connection and learning, they also can expose children to various risks. Cyberbullying, inappropriate content, online predators, and negative self-image are just a few examples. Open communication, setting boundaries, monitoring their activities, and teaching children about responsible online behaviour can help ensure their safety and well-being. I will continue to share resources and information about cyber safety and I hope that the school and families can work together to help to keep our children safe online. Please speak to me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the safety of your children.
Please have a great weekend.
Kind regards,
Julian

16th June ~ Albie Saunders
Congratulations to Albie who is very proud of himself because he taught himself how to do a full back flip on the trampoline. Albie showed great perserverance and patience while practising on the trampoline. He did not give up while trying to do a full back flip. Albie's passion for adventure gives him a lot of joy and satisfaction. He was courageous when trying to do something new that he really wanted to achieve. Albie's never give up attitude allowed him to feel great because he pulled off a stunt amazing enough to join Cirque de Soleil.
Well done Albie!!
16th June ~ Levi Saunders
Congratulations to Levi who is very proud of his swimming acheivements. Levi has overcome some big obstacles with his swimming and is very pleased he continued to perservere with his lessons. He has proven to himself that he can achieve anything if he applies himself, sticks at his task and doesn't give up. Levi's attitude to never give up and dig deep is a fantastic quality to have. This will definately enable Levi to reach his full potential and feel fulfilled.
Well done Levi!!
14th July ~ Levi Crutchfiled
Congratulations to Levi who is very proud of his determination to succeed in learning how to do a front flip and back flip.
Over the school holidays Levi practised and practised until he achieved his goal. He demonstrated great perserverance, resiliance and will power to accomplish a goal that brings him happiness.
These are wonderful qualitites to have as I'm certain he will draw on them as he navigates his way through life.
Well done Levi!!
To celebrate student's achievements, we will be presenting children with Star Of The Week awards. This is a self nominated award of something a student is proud of. It could be something academic, sports related, or a personal achievement. Have you learnt to ride a bike? Won 1st place in a dance competition? Read a book by yourself? Anything that makes you proud!
Forms can be found on the link below.
WEEK 2
It has been a great start to term 3 PE. All students have been focusing on Athletic Skills. Our Foundation and Junior Grades have been developing and improving their jumping and throwing skills. The Middle and Senior Grades have been fortunate to have Athletics Coach Denis Huffer come in and provide explicit coaching on a range of athletic events. Students have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions with Denis, and it has been amazing to see the improvements they have made with just two weeks of coaching.
Our major sporting event this term is the Athletics Carnival which will be held on Monday the 31st of July. This is a whole school event which will be held at the Sale Little Athletics Centre. I am still in need of parent/grandparent helpers for the day. So if you are able to assist, please send me a DOJO message.
It was fantastic to see so many Grandparents, family and friends support our 'Grandparents Day' on Thursday. Children happily showed their work and their classrooms to our special visitors.
