Diversity

At St Mary’s, we value the uniqueness of each child and their story – a story that is embedded in family, culture, history and traditions. We provide a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and children from all culturally diverse backgrounds are respected, valued, welcomed and treated with dignity and respect. Our school policies and practices are grounded in faith and child safety standards, and promote an acceptance of uniqueness and individuality. We actively encourage our students to strive to make a difference in the world, to question and challenge injustices and act as compassionate and thoughtful members of society, living the Gospel in their daily lives.
